In these wondrous weeks together, making art, it seems, along side Langlais, gave kids an electric charge. They began to dare in ways they hadn’t. To trust themselves. To create with all their imaginative powers. Through photos, words, and art ~ they’ll tell their tale.
One thing I will always remember about camp is ~
“How I got better with art.” “EVERYTHING!” “How I made my puppet.” “How I made a paper doll.” “Making my windsock!” “We made cool stuff!” “The art we did. I will hang it on my wall, and remember my friends, and never forget them.”
Last words until our fall programs begin ~ “I think making art is important for kids because you will never know how to do it ’til you try!”
With joy and gratitude ~ Nancy, for the LEAPS’ Team
